International League T20 (ILT20)
The DP World International League T20 2024, also known as the 2024 International League T20, is set to kick off its second season on January 19, 2024, in the United Arab Emirates. Organized by the Emirates Cricket Board, the tournament promises exciting Twenty20 cricket action, concluding with the final on February 17, 2024. The Gulf Giants, as the defending champions, will be aiming to maintain their title. Notably, the matches have received List A status from the ICC, allowing for a reduced number of domestic players as specified in the regulations.
The ILT20, a big T20 cricket league in the UAE, is getting even more important. Even though it’s only been around for one season, it’s gaining attention because great players are joining. Just a bit more than a month before its second season starts, the ICC (the cricket bosses) said it’s now a List A tournament. This is a big deal because no other T20 league from an Associate nation has this status.
This means the tournament is now official, and all the stats from the games are official too. The ILT20 said this is a really big step forward and a boost for them. It’s like getting a gold star in cricket!
ILT20 is a T20 Cricket League that is primarily focused on franchises, in which all of the participating teams are administered and controlled by the franchise owners. Different cities in the UAE are represented by each squad. Six teams are competing in ILT20’s inaugural season. In January and February of 2024, the league is anticipated to take place.

ILT20 Schedule
As it is the first season, it is decided to schedule in January and February. On January 19, 2024, the first game will be played. There are 34 matches in which six teams will face each other. On 17 February 2024, the final game will kick out.
ILT20 Opening Ceremony 2024
The international T20 League flourishing in UAE will have its first match on 19th January 2024. Before the match, a brilliant and amusing opening ceremony will be held. Although, who will participate in this ceremony? This will be announced soon by the ECB.

The International T20 League will start on January 19, 2024, as per instructions from the Emirates Cricket Board.

League Venues
According to the ECB, all matches of the 2024 International T20 League (ILT20) will be played in the UAE’s four major stadiums. The following are the venues in the UAE:

ILT20 Broadcasting Channels
The ECB has contracted with ZEE Entertainment Enterprises for the next 10 years. They now have global media rights for ILT20 broadcasting. They purchased it for $120 million.
Back in May 2021, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, owned by the Essel Group, secured the media rights for this league. The deal spans a decade, running from 2023 to 2032, and was sealed at a hefty price tag of US$120 million.

ILT20 Format and Rules 2024
In both home and away stadium settings, all teams compete against one another in a double round-robin format. In the case of a tie, each side will earn one point, while the winner will receive two.
The top three teams in the points standings after the double round-robin will advance to the playoff round that follows. The run rate will be used to determine if two teams qualify if they have identical points (NRR). The inaugural ILT20 tournament has 34 total matches, of which 31 are group-stage matches, two are semi-finals, and one is the championship match. The victorious team is proclaimed the champion in the grand finale.
